The Constitution of the SGO is available in HTML format or in PDF format.
Some of the reforms instituted in the Class Constitution (see below) were also offered as the Second through Sixth Amendments to the SGO Constitution (PDF) by John Sadowski. They were passed by the SGO Council at our Nov. 30, 2000 meeting, and took effect after the general vote of the Student Body on April 6, 2001.
In addition, the Seventh Amendment, sponsored by Cody Sibell, regulating the selection of student delegates to the school Site-Based Committee, was passed on November 16, 2001.
The Eighth Amendment (PDF), regarding impeachment and replacement procedures, is currently under consideration. Be sure to attend our meetings to participate in the discussion on this amendment.

Throughout the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 school years, the SGO actively drafted a constitution for use by the four classes that compose the high school. Even though the SGO itself had its own constitution, the class governments had operated without one. The purpose of this effort was to create written protocols and procedures for use by all class governments. The text of the Cosntitution was authored by John Sadowski. The final affirmation vote was held on April 6, 2001, and the Class Constitution took effect on May 31, 2001.
The Class Constitution is available here in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format. You can also read the Class Government Handbook by John P. Sadowski, which is a common-language overview of the Constitution.
See our History of the Constitutions site for more information, including drafts and records from the discussion process.
