Right now, terrorists are plotting to release a toxic substance into Avery House... The Avery ExComm has been compromised... And nothing is going according to plan! Get ready for the longest day of your life with the members of Caltech's Avery House in their explosive 2006 Rotation video, a parody of the popular television series 24.

About the film

24: Avery House is a parody of the television series 24, which originally ran from 2001 to 2010. The film follows the television series' format of presenting the investigation of a terrorist plot over the course of a single day in real time, with the film presented as one episode in the middle of a putative season. In 24: Avery House, a terrorist cell is attempting to release hydrofluoric acid into the Avery air condititoning system. They are pursued by Counter Terrorist Unit–Avery House, which is about to intercept a meeting of the terrorists with the hope of stopping the plot right there. Meanwhile, as the Avery ExComm discusses evacuation plans, one of the Chancellor's top advisors is suddenly killed and questions abound as to the culprit.

The film was shown to incoming freshmen during Rotation, Caltech's week of selecting new students into the various Houses, in 2006. Its goal was to catch the freshmen's attention in being well-executed and engaging. In this film we tried to depart from the traditional "funny-silly" tone that Rotation videos often take, favoring a tone that is serious and engaging on the surface but has the subtle humor that larger-than-life situations are taking place in the familiar world of Caltech and Avery House.
